Lessons Learned from a Young Dreamer

    By Yaman ABUNASER

"Glorify who you are today, do not condemn who you were yesterday, and dream of who you can be tomorrow"
This is one my favorite quotes of Neale Donald Walsch. For me life is a series of lessons, experiences and memories. Through this platform of youth, it will be my pleasure to share my stories with the world and express my thoughts. Maybe I still at the beginning of my road of life but in this short period of time I have learned a lot.

Believe in yourself and never underestimate your abilities
Maybe you heard this in many places. However when you look inside and focus on your behavior, you may find out that you usually underestimate your ability to do what you want. So, if you want to
turn miracles into reality, you have to believe in yourself. George Bernard Shaw said :"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself".

Be confident that you can achieve all your goals and be the person you want to be. Don't give ear to the negative messages from people around you. Transform the negative energy into positive one, put your dreams between your eyes and work for them every single day. You can and you will make them real. Although you will face some challenges, that doesn't mean to surrender and stop pursuing your dreams because life is a journey with ups and downs. We gain the skill of making the right decisions after experiences. However this experience come with the bad and wrong decisions we made. Don't be afraid of failure cause it's our teacher in the school of life.

    Feel your freedom
the statement "I have no choice" is a lie. Be honest with yourself and as to why you are choosing to do a particular thing. Then do it. gladly, knowing that you are always getting to do what you want.
You can choose. Isn't that power?!

    Read, read and read
Books are our gate to other worlds. Between the pages of books we can meet new characters from the past and the future, visit far places and hear strange stories while sitting at home drinking our coffee.

Whenever you have a question in your mind, go and ask the books. Which are willing to tell you about the secrets of life and answer all your questions in any time. My journey with reading started with my college of English Literature where we had in our syllable poems, novels and plays from around the world. Then I fell in love with books and become part of my life. Reading helped me to different person with different mindset. The more I read, the more I realize how much of knowledge I still don't know.

Enrich your life with a voluntary work
Doing something that has meaning, something for the sake of your community, something in the field you prefer. How would that feel? For me, this is one of the most exciting experiences I had so far.

Voluntarism is not just to participate in a project or an initiative, it is a lifestyle. When believe in this concept you will see the difference in your personality. You will become more responsible towards your world, more willing to help those who need you, more productive and loving. Furthermore, voluntary work help you improving your skills and gaining important experiences and opportunities like I had in sharing my story with you.

    Be grateful
Do you know that gratitude has been scientifically proven to strengthen your immune system and make you happier and optimistic, as well as less lonely and isolated. People who regularly
practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they are thankful for, experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better and express more compassion and
    kindness.

Share the love with your family and friends
Cultivate appreciation for other and let them know regularly that you love them and grateful for what they do for you. Focusing on thepositive will make people want to keep doing it!

Keep love in your heart. A life" without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead". Oscar wilde Eventually, we all have our own journey in life. Everyone of us should write his/her story with their own pens. These are the lessons I learned and still have a lot to experience because every
moment is a new chance for us to make great memories.
