Khartoum, Sudan (IYF Sudan): Yesterday, the International Youth Federation in Sudan holds a welcoming reception to welcome the new Country Team. The event held under the auspices and in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Saeed ZAKI, IYF Secretary General, and Ms. Basma Saeed, Regional Programme Adviser - Middle East and North Africa representing the Regional Administration in the Arab States, and Mr. Abdullah ISMAIL from the IYF Bureau of External Relations.
“You are of this development process, you contributed with your skills, dedication, ideas and active participation. Because together we can create a global society, where can reach their potential, ensuring that no young person is left behind.” said Ms Basma Saeed, Regional Programme Adviser, Middle East and North Africa.
In her speech, The IYF Representative in Sudan Ms. Azza Elamin said: “By engaging youth in the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, there is no doubt that we are already one step closer in making an effective, positive change.” In addition, she added: “Together, we look forward to creating an impeccable impact on the young people in Sudan and let them know It’s time for us to start working on building a bright future we yearn to see.”
The new IYF Sudan’s Country Team includes Sarah Elzein, Ikhlas Mohammed, Amjed Mustafa, Lamia Eltayeb. The team members was selected based on their passion and knowledge towards the sustainable development.
After the official speeches, the Country Team discussed the current and future projects and activities that can promote youth empowerment and peace through sport and arts, as well as the programme priorities for this year.
